Middle Valley Animal Hospital - A General Practice Hospital

Internal Medicine – Middle Valley is essentially a general practice hospital. We provide complete medical care for your pet(s) including wellness exams and vaccinations, in house lab work, cytology and other diagnostic services and procedures.

Just as in human medicine, it is always best to prevent a problem if possible, rather than react to it after the fact. That is why we recommend yearly physicals for dogs and cats (every 6 months for older pets!).

Boarding – We have complete boarding facilities including indoor/outdoor runs and a separate cat ward. We encourage you to bring your pet’s own food to prevent GI upset while here, but if you forget, we feed Science Diet maintenance and prescription diets as needed.

Grooming – Full grooming services are provided by Pampered Pets Monday through Friday.

Pharmacy – We have a full service veterinary pharmacy in the hospital and now provide on-line ordering of heartworm, flea and tick preventatives, and other select items. These can be shipped to your home, or you may pick them up at your convenience. We also carry Hill’s Science Diet and Purina prescription diets and can place special orders for other foods if needed. See our Pharmacy Policy page for more information.

Dentistry – We also provide full dentistry services including dental x-rays. Since dogs and cats will not let us do this while they are awake, they must be put under general anesthesia and intubated during the procedure. If your pet’s dental health is very poor he or she may need antibiotics prior to cleaning. Make an appointment for an exam to determine if this is necessary. Dentistry Service
Emergencies – We see emergencies during our regular business hours. If you have an emergency after hours, we refer you to RIVER (698-4612). We may also recommend your pet be transferred there for overnight monitoring if he or she has a life threatening illness or needs medications during evening hours.
X-ray – Radiographs (x-rays) are sometimes needed to help diagnose a problem. They are used to see bones, joints and soft tissues. Sometimes it is necessary to sedate an animal for x-rays, so if you think your pet may need them it is best to take the food up the night before your visit.

Ultrasound – Ultrasound is another way to look at internal organs. We may recommend ultrasound in addition to x-rays to gather more information about your pet’s condition.
